Isn’t it truly amazing how fast the holiday is approaching? It just seems as if we cleaned up from Thanksgiving and in a few short days Christmas will be here. And part of the Christmas holiday (for those that celebrate), is giving to others that we care about and love. Giving a gift that the person will really like is important to the person giving. But one thing we should never do is go over budget in spending.

This is a great post! The older we get the more we realize its the little things in life that make us happy. Honestly, I’m happy if I get a card or phone call instead of a gift. It reminds me that the giver was thinking of me, that is all that matters really. Great job Cynthia!!
Excellent point Terri! I am exactly the same way…. A phone call or written letter to me goes a long way. Happy Holidays my friend!
Great ideas Cynthia! I love the one of putting an inspirational quote in a picture frame. It is the thought and sentiment behind the gift that counts.
For the person who has everything, a donation to their favorite charity in their name is a great way to spread holiday cheer. If you are looking for something different to do as a family or group look at the local charities in your area and see what kind of group volunteering they offer. It is a great way to spend time together while giving back to the community. Time well spent, helping others, building memories, for me is one of the best gifts you can give. 🙂
Chantal, I am so glad you liked the idea of putting a quote inside of a picture frame. Also, fantastic ideas of ways to give back. I absolutely love it. Thank you for sharing!!
Cynthia, your post came at a perfect time! #1 & #2 are excellent ideas! I have two last gifts to purchase and there they are! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful ideas!
Yay Linda! I am so glad my post was of great help for you to put together some last minute gifts. Happy Holidays!!!

It warms my heart to give or receive a gift the is straight from the heart, packed full of inspiration, one that immediately brings forth a smile!! Well done my dear … Superb list here! Thank you so much Carla for the shout out! We are definitely on the same page for many things my friend! Have a fantastic day!
Great list Cindy! I’ll definitely use some of these for some friends left on my list. Happy holidays.
Happy Holidays Carol! I am so glad you liked the list! Have an awesome week!
I have to say at 43 years old, I do not really want to receive gifts anymore. Yes, I’ve gotten to THAT stage in my life. I’m much happier spending time with a friend over a nice cup of coffee, shopping for a motivational book with another person or going to a spin class with someone than opening a gift. I want time with people. I enjoy reflecting on conversation, different perspectives on a topic or even the quiet times with others than opening a gift.
Really loved that you shared this. Great idea!
Sheryl, I am getting exactly the same way! Experiences I love versus physical things as gifts. I wish you an awesome week. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I was actually thinking of getting note cards and scenting them with an essential oil and give as gifts. Makes it a little more special with the added scent. I like all of your ideas!
Bonnie, that’s a beautiful idea! To put essential oil on notecards….. I love that! Thanks for the shout out. I am glad you liked all the ideas!
Hi Cynthia!
Love these ideas! So simple yet so meaningful! I really like the idea of giving a subscription to a magazine because the recipient can enjoy it all year long! 🙂
I am so happy you enjoyed these ideas! I love the magazine subscription idea as well Donna! I just gifted one today. 🙂
Hi Cynthia!
Great ideas, all of them, especially the framed quote and journal. Like many of the ladies in the comments, I agree that the experiences trump gifts, still you’ve given a nice array of ideas to deliver thoughtfulness and appreciation through a meaningful gift.
Hi Debbie, thank you so much for your comments! I am glad you liked the idea of the framed quote and journal. Happy Holidays to you!!
Love this list! I love journals and stationary. I’m a paper girl and love pretty notepads, cards, sticky notes, etc… Everyone needs to send a note or jot something down real quick…why not do it on something pretty and thoughtful.
I have been struggling with what to get my brother in law who has no hobbies or interests I can afford to buy for….but I’d never considered a magazine! I also am considering just making a snack basket for him. This list has some great ideas for everyone though!
I love this list… simple and means a lot. You’re a very thoughtful person.
Happy Holidays Cynthia, I hope you’re spending with family and loved one.
